California Trucking Association (CTA) member councils are organized to focus on specific issues areas within the trucking industry. CTA staff will often seek the advice of the various councils when legislative or regulatory issues arise that would affect these significant issues of interest to the industry.
One of the top concerns for members of the California Trucking Association (CTA) is safety at our workplaces and on the roads that industry trucks utilize. As a member of the CTA, you’ll receive the latest information on safety best practices and procedures. If you’re interested in participating in safety issues further, all while gaining valuable information for safety training opportunities, consider joining one of the Safety Maintenance Councils at CTA.
The Northern and Southern Safety Maintenance Councils meet on an intermittent basis in their respective regions of California. Members discuss the latest safety developments such as workplace accident prevention, FMCSA’s CSA system, the California BIT program, Hours of Service regulations, and winter driving safety.
The Safety Maintenance Councils are led by CTA staff member Rich Leimbach, a safety compliance expert who has over 30 years of industry experience. For further information on the councils and the role that they can play for your company, please contact Rich at 916-373-2527 or at rleimbach@caltrux.org
The Registration Council at the California Trucking Association convenes members that are interested in the registration requirements for the State California, and for other multi-jurisdictional registration and licensing opportunities.
If your company has issues with registering commercial vehicles, California Motor Carrier Permits (MCP), the International Registration Plan (IRP), Unified Carrier Registration (UCR), or other registration services, then the Registration Council can assist you in getting the latest information on the rules and requirements that govern these programs.
