Stormwater Compliance

By way of our partnership with Network Environmental Systems, Inc. (NES), the California Trucking Association Monitoring Group (CTAMG) provides a proactive, inexpensive, and experienced stormwater monitoring program that will keep your company and facilities within storm water compliance as outlined by the State Water Resources Control Board.

What is Stormwater Compliance?

Do you know whether or not your company and facilities need to comply with the State Water Resources Control Board’s (SWRCB) Storm Water Compliance Regulations?  If not, please consider the following questions:

  • Do you conduct any wet or dry hose fueling at your facility?
  • Do you wash vehicles on site?
  • Do you conduct any (light or heavy) vehicle maintenance at your facility (i.e. oil/transmission/radiator fluid changing?
  • Are any hazardous materials handled on site at your facilities? (Namely the fluids mentioned above?)

If you answered 'Yes' to any of the questions above, then any applicable facilities are required by state law to comply with storm water monitoring. Failure to comply by these regulations places companies at risk of being fined up to $10,000 per day.

CTA Monitoring Group:

The CTAMG can help you and your facilities prevent getting burned by the high prices of private contractors and/or the oft-required hiring of new personnel for storm water monitoring duties.

CTAMG and NES also afford the benefit of participating in a group monitoring program.  As opposed to being required to sample two times per year, CTAMG’s group status requires its members to sample only twice within a five year span.  Likewise, we help alleviate the high cost of sampling material and analytical results by including these services to all participating members.  Additional benefits include:

  • Creation of and assistance with the submittal of Annual Reports.
  • Excellent and proactive customer service that includes ongoing administrative and technical support.
  • Daily, monthly, and quarterly stormwater monitoring documents and reminders.
  • Assistance with the preparation and implementation of the state mandated, site-specific Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
  • Onsite storm water compliance inspections and review.
  • Training on SWPPP preparation, visual observations, proper sample procedures, and selection of appropriate Best Management Practices.
